Orkney - II

The first stop of the day may have been the most impressive. Skara Brae is a Neolithic dig that was accidentally found on the property of a wealthy land owner back at the turn of the last century.

They messed around with it and almost messed it up. It is now looked after by professionals and we get to wander around a bit of it from above.
We got to tour the house of the land owner afterwards but it was mostly an old house with period furniture and dishes. I did find this one window different.
And the embroidery on this vest was amazing. I couldn't get my phone to focus on my fingers in front of it so you could see how incredibly tiny the stitches were on this fine silk. Much smaller than anything I have ever done.
Next we are off to the Ring of Brodgar. See you in Section III
