People Watching

The decision to stay in bed was correct. We had coffee and got caught up on correspondence, research and organizing.

I was a rainy day so we spent time watching people, finding the train station and getting tickets, and having some absolutely excellent Italian food.

While sitting on the mall a family with young girls came to the bench next to us and started feeding the pigeons. Amazing to watch  hundreds of birds comfortable eating out of hands and siting on folks. One woman came over and asked for a little food for them. Next was another little girl with her mom. Everybody was laughing and the birds were everywhere, even on top of the head of the Dad filming.

Later we were approached by a fellow wanting change. I gave him the little I had but told him it was US money. He sweetly returned the all except one coin to remind him of us, spoke a little about why Glasgow is a great place and wandered on with his pan handling.

There were more buskers out today, all of them with different kinds of music but all good. Photo is of young kids playing local music. The center guy was doing a good job on the bagpipes.
i tried to get lots of shots of the parade of humanity walking past but was self conscious of aiming the camera at people.

These two shots are of the hotel entry and restaurant. It was another great place to watch people as we are close to the train, bus and subway terminals.
A few random notes on trip so far:
- The sculpture over the parking garage posted the other day was made from recycled aluminum cans
- I love the controls on my bathtub. One controls the flow of water and the other controls the temp. You can get the temp where you want it and just come in after that and turn the water on.
- TV commercials are great. None for medicine and the disgusting side effects and none from lawyers wanting you to sue someone. Just lost of happy perky ads for stuff you might want to buy
- Our tour driver yesterday was great. He made his own playlists and the music playing reflected what we were near. Some old folk songs and some modern rock from local people like Paul McCartney when his family moved to area after Beatles broke up. The Long and Winding Road was playing when that was exactly what we were going up.
- Kilts are more common than I expected. And there is a distinct difference between dress and casual.
Our credit card company alerts us EVERY TIME we use the card. Even for a 1.50 candy bar.

Sorry there aren't more photos. I spared you the laundry drying in the bath and the interesting young lady on her way to Rocky Horror Picture Show

Tomorrow we catch a train to experience one of the worlds most scenic rides.
