planes and buses
No exciting pictures of castles yet. The last day and a half have been scuttering from numerous planes and shuttles. We are here and safe and enjoying a hot soak.
Observations from the trip so far:
- The first photo was from the second plane taken at what my body thought was 3am but it was the sun rising over the UK
- second photo is of our disposable cutlery that was made of wood like chopsticks
-not pictured is the toilet paper in Glasgow airport. It is thicker than most with Scott marked on it and was dispensed in large pieces like tissue in a box.
- the trees and roadside flowers are different and will give me something to investigate on walks.
- all day I was surrounded by all manner of languages and dialects. The help screen on board the plane had at least a dozen languages to choose from.
-the drive from the airport to the hotel was noteworthy for it's absence of pick-up trucks. I recognized about two thirds of the makes of the cars and most were on the compact size (and pale mint green is a popular color)
If jet lag doesn't do us in we will investigate downtown Glasgow tomorrow. We are down in the city center with lots of beautiful old buildings to see.
Glad you made it safe.
