The Queen's Clock and The Roman Wall
Our approach to the stairs up to the wall takes us down a pedestrian walk headed to the second most photographed clock tower in England.
And up we go onto the Roman wall, the longest intact wall of it's kind in England. Hadrian's wall spans more distance but has many sections that have been destroyed.
Note the river below
You can see much of the history along this path.
The cathedral - which we will see more of later when we tour it.
It's modern bell tower.
We walked of the wall for a closer look.
King Charles tower
Some great climbing trees
A view of the wall from a high up lookout point
And from below outside a neat cafe. Note the little tiny dots along the wall are people's heads.
Next we head to the bus station to catch our city tour.
